Beth Mooney Reclaims Top Spot as No.1 Batter in Women's ODI Rankings

In the latest update of the ICC Women's Player Rankings, there has been significant movement, with thrilling performances shaking up the standings. After a brief reign, Chamari Athapaththu is dethroned as Australia's Beth Mooney surges back to claim the No. 1 position in the ICC Women's ODI Batters Rankings.

Mooney's performance in the first two ODIs against England was amazing, scoring a solid 81 and 33, which helped Australia secure an impressive victory in the second match of the series and take home the Ashes. Beth Mooney also completed 150 games in all formats and crossed over 2000 runs.

Trailing closely behind Mooney is England's Nat Sciver-Brunt, who mesmerized a jaw-dropping 111* off 99 balls in the second ODI against Australia. Her extraordinary performance elevated her two spots up the rankings to earn No. 2, achieving a career-best rating 763.

Sciver-Brunt also showcased her skills with the ball, claiming two major wickets in England's first ODI win in Bristol. This outstanding display led her to the top of the all-rounders' rankings in ODIs, reaching an impressive career-best rating of 402.

England's captain Heather Knight, played a pivotal role in her team's triumph with an unbeaten 75 in the first ODI, resulting in a remarkable four-place jump to No.14 in the batters' rankings, sharing the spot with New Zealand's Sophie Devine.

Australia's Ashleigh Gardner, the ICC Women's Player of the Month for June 2023, continues to shine with her brilliant performances with both bat and ball. Garnering 54 runs and three wickets in the first two ODIs, Gardner's rankings soar to career-best figures, securing the No.8 spot among bowlers and the No.5 position among all-rounders.
