Following passion with all hearts, Servotech Siliguri Strikers spinner Raju Halder stepped into the Eden Garden just after his father death. Skipping the last rites, he turned his grief into strength and delivered a stunning performance on the field.

Raju Halder Turns Heartbreak Into Heroics At Eden Gardens

Cricket never fails to inspire as sometimes cricketers own life battles become the biggest lessons for the world. Virat Kohli’s grit after his father’s demise is known to the world but Bengal’s very own left arm spinner Raju Halder followed the same path even being miles away, as he choose to put aside his grief of losing his father and stepped in to the cricket field.

In the ongoing edition of the Bengal Pro T20 League, Bengal’s left arm spinner Raju Halder who represents Servotech Siliguri Strikers set an example of a brave heart. After losing his father recently, he choose to step into the field against the Adamas Howrah Warriors, holding on even funeral rites.

After suffering an abdominal injury, Raju’s father developed a stomach perforation that led to multiple organ failure, resulting in his passing. After ending the match, he returned to his home to complete his last rites. Just after that, he joined the team again for the upcoming clashes.

Speaking to ABP Ananda, as quoted by myKhel, the spinner said, “My father, Bishwanath Haldar, worked hard all his life. He was a rickshaw puller. After I got a job in the Railways, I asked him to stop. He then started a small business.”

Raju Steals The Spotlight Even In Defeat

In the third match of the ongoing tournament, the Servotech Siliguri Strikers locked horns with Adamas Howrah Warriors. After putting on a modest total of 126 runs, they struggled while defending the total. Amidst the slump, Raju unleashed his spin magic on Eden Gardens' pitch.

After removing Arindam Ghosh, he secured his first scalp. After that, he dismissed Aamir Ghani and Pramod Chandila and ended the match with a remarkable spell of 3/12. Despite the loss, Raju’s performance etched in fans’ hearts forever.
