England's Test captain, Ben Stokes, fresh from leading an extraordinary comeback in Ashes 2023, found himself facing an off-field challenge when his luggage failed to turn up following a British Airways flight.

Stokes, who recently inspired his team to recover from a 0-2 deficit to draw the series 2-2, took to Twitter to voice his concern.

"Bags not turned up off the plane @British_Airways and help would be greatly appreciated," wrote Stokes.

British Airways quickly responded with assurances of prompt assistance.

Meanwhile, the five-match Ashes 2023 was a roller-coaster of emotions, with England trailing 2-0 after losing the first two games. However, a spirited comeback at Headingley in the third Test injected life into the series.

The fourth Test in Manchester nearly saw another English victory, only to be thwarted by incessant rain. The series ended in a thrilling 49-run victory for England at The Oval in London, sealing a 2-2 draw.

Personally, Stokes' performance was nothing short of stellar. Despite a knee injury that forced him to feature mainly as a batter, he scored over 400 runs, including a stunning hundred in the fourth innings at Lord's. Moreover, his aggressive leadership played a pivotal role in the hosts bouncing back from defeat in the first two matches.

Interestingly, the drama wasn’t over with the conclusion of on-field action. The end of the series saw an unexpected twist as well, with the post-series celebrations shifting from the dressing room at The Oval to a nightclub, due to scheduling conflicts between the English and Australian squads.

The clarification on the same was provided by Stokes himself after rumours of England's refusal of customary post-series meet-ups with their Australian counterparts went viral on social media.
