Another thrilling Tri-nation series is on its way to excite the cricket world. India Women will face Sri Lanka and South Africa in an exciting Tri-nation series that will take place on the Sri Lankan soil from April 27.

Before entering the series, BCCI announced a strong 15-member squad featuring some big stars. However, in a surprising twist, ace pacer Renuka Singh Thakur will miss the action due to an injury setback.

No Renuka Singh Thakur In Tri-Nation Series

After a brief break, the Indian Women’s side is coming back to action soon. Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. are all set to face South Africa Women and Sri Lanka Women in an exciting Tri-nation series. With all matches set to unfold at the R. Premadasa Stadium, the BCCI has announced a robust 15-member squad, aiming for a dominant campaign.

Under Harmanpreet Kaur’s leadership, the Indian women's side is set to take on the challenges. However, before the action begins, they’ve been dealt a major blow as the star pacer Renuka Singh Thakur will miss the series due to an injury setback.

Along with Renuka Singh, Titas Sadhu is also missing out on the series due to injury concerns. The BCCI has clarified the reason, saying, “Renuka Singh Thakur & Titas Sadhu are injured and were not considered for the selection.” Shreyanka Patil and Pooja Vastrakar have also been snubbed from the team. 

Some Fresh Faces Earn Maiden Call-Ups

Some of the fresh talents have secured their places in the squad. Kashvi Gautam is one of them. The young bowler grabbed the limelight in the recently held edition of the WPL 2025. In 9 matches, she secured 11 wickets and finished the tournament as the 6th highest wicket-taker.

N Shree Charani and Shuchi Upadhaya also secured their maiden call-ups. Charani impressed with her stellar performances for Delhi Capitals in WPL 2025, while young spinner Shuchi made headlines by claiming 18 wickets in the Senior Women’s ODI Trophy. 

In a surprising move, Shafali Verma has been left out of the squad despite topping the WPL 2025 run charts with 306 runs at a blistering strike rate of 152.76. Meanwhile, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side is all set to take on the Sri Lanka Women in the inaugural match of the series on April 27.
