BCCI announces squads and schedule of Women's T20 Challenger Trophy


image-lal493x0Captains of Senior Women's T20 Challenger Trophy 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the squads and schedule of the Senior Women's T20 Challenger Trophy 2022 to be played at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur.

The four-team tournament will commence on November 20 and run until November 26 and consists of a total of seven matches.  

The experienced campaigners, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Radha Yadav have been rested from the tournament. 

The tournament will be played in a round-robin format, and each squad contains 14 players. Poonam Yadav is named the captain of India A,  while Deepti Sharma has been handed the leadership role of India B. India C will be captained by Pooja Vastrakar, while Sneh Rana will lead the India D team. 

The tournament will serve as a preparation for the players ahead of the Women's T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa slated to be played in February. 

Then, the Indian team will play five-match T20I series against Australia in December.  Afterwards, South Africa will host tri-series involving India and West Indies.

India A: Poonam Yadav (c), H Deol (vc), Muskan Malik, S. Sajna, Amanjot Kaur, Disha Kasat, Shriyanka Patil, Saika Ishaque, Meghna Singh, Anjali Sarwani, Sahana Pawar, Nuzhat Parween (wk), Shivali Shinde (wk) S. Anusha.

India B: Deepti Sharma (c), Shafali Verma (vc), Dhara Gujjar, Yuvashree, Arundhati Reddy, Nishu Chaudhary, Humeira Kazi, Devika Vaidya, S.S Kalal, Monica Patel, S.L. Meena, Simran Dil Bahadur, Taniyaa Sapna Bhatia (wk) and Laxmi Yadav (wk).

India C: Pooja Vastrakar (c), S. Meghana (vc), Priya Punia, Simran Shaikh, Tarranum Pathan, K.P. Navgire, Anjali Singh, Rashi Kanojia, Saranya Gadwal, Keerthy James, Komal Zanzad, Ajima Sangma, Richa Ghosh (wk) and Mamatha (wk).

India D: Sneh Rana (c), Jemimah Rodrigues (vc), Ashwini Kumari, D. Hemalatha, Kanika Ahuja, Jasia Akhter, Yastika Bhatia, Priyanka Priyadarshini, Shikha Pandey, S.B. Pokharkar, Renuka Singh, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Aparna Mondal (wk) and Sushma Verma (wk).
