With the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup in February 2023, Indian opener Smriti Mandhana has sounded alarm bells for other teams, revealing that Team India is motivated to better their show from the last edition.

India qualified for the final in the last edition in 2020, losing to eventual-winner Australia comprehensively by 85 runs. Mandhana scored an eight-ball 11, as India folded for 99 in 19.1 overs.

In a statement release by the ICC, the left-handed batter said that the upcoming edition in South Africa will be a spectacle for the world to witness.

"The Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa promises to be a spectacular event, we are looking forward to heading there and competing against the best teams in the world.

We came up short against Australia in the final in 2020 so we are really motivated to go one further in 2023. South Africa is a beautiful country to tour, the people love their cricket and always know how to turn it up, it's going to be an amazing experience."

India are placed in Group B alongside England, Ireland, Pakistan, and West Indies.  The 10-nation event begins on February 10.
