In a significant development, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has planned to organise a workshop for its cricketers following a legal enquiry against Taskin Ahmed. Notably, the right-arm seamer, who was recently a part of The Tigers' squad for Pakistan series, landed in hot water following a physical altercation.

Taskin's Act A Lesson For Other Cricketers

Notably, on July 28, reports emerged that Mirpur police have filed a complaint against Taskin for beating up his friend in Dhaka and also issuing threats to him. The incident has led to the police investigating the matter, while Taskin is untraceable as his phone was switched off.

A report from Protomalo stated that the complaint filed against Taskin stated that the 30-year-old met his friend named Sifatur Rahman Sourav. Meanwhile, the BCB too broke their silence on the matter and revealed that they too will launch an investigation and remarked that it will be an unfortunate incident if Taskin is proven guilty.

BCB To Launch A Workshop For Cricketers

Meanwhile, a report from Cricbuzz remarked that the BCB will train their national cricketers to refrain from such acts as they are not mere cricketers, but also role-models.

"We are planning to hold a short workshop with national cricketers in August as we feel we must remind them what they can do and what they cannot considering they are not only cricketers rather they are also idols of many youngsters and are being followed by them so they have some accountability towards their fans," BCB media committee chairman Iftekhar Ahmed told as quoted by Cricbuz.

Taskin's case is not the only such act by a Bangladeshi cricketer as former captain Shakib Al Hasan too hogged the internet for a good time over allegations of corruption and money laundering. A court has also imposed a travel ban on Shakib as the southpaw is currently out of the country and last featured in Caribbean T10.
