Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to rope in former Indian player Sridharan Sriram as the team's new T20I coach. His tenure will last until the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, and his first assignment with the Tigers will be the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, beginning on August 27 in the UAE.

Earlier, BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon hinted at making crucial changes ahead of the marquee event. However, Russell Domingo will continue to coach Bangladesh's Test and One-Day International teams.

Verifying the news, a BCB source told Daily Star:

"Yes, we have chosen Sriram up until the world cup."
