Worcestershire County Cricket Club (WCCC) announced the release of three players — Tom Fell, Josh Dell, and Jacques Banton — after their current contract expires post the 2022 domestic season.

Speaking on their release, Chairman Paul Pridgeon said:

"The decision was made to release Tom and Josh and Jack, and we wish them all the very best in their future careers, whatever they may be, hopefully still inside cricket. You hope they get opportunities with other clubs. It’s always very difficult when you have to release players, and the coaching staff don’t take it lightly,"

“It is very disappointing for those players, but, at the end of the day, we have felt one or two players have come in and gone past them a little bit.”

Since 2013, Fell has played 97 First-Class matches for the club and scored 4,485 runs with six hundred and 19 half-centuries. The 28-year-old Fell recovered from testicular cancer and made a return to cricket in 2016.

In 52 List-A games, he has scored 1,541 runs, including one hundred and 13 fifties.

Meanwhile, Dell featured in just seven FC and six List-A games for the club and spent most of his last season on the bench due to injuries.

On the other hand, Banton featured in just three Royal London Cup matches last year and one T20 Blast game this season.
