Bangladesh Players To Have 'Bonus' And Dinner After Historic Win Over New Zealand

Bangladesh Cricket Team made history on Saturday after claiming their first-ever Test win against New Zealand at home. The fact that New Zealand came with a full-strength side tells a lot about how well the hosts were prepared for the challenge.

Bangladesh were playing with a new Test skipper in Najmal Hossain Shanto, who led the team admirably. He led from the front by scoring a century when it mattered the most, helping his team win the game by 150 runs.

Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) cricket operations chairman, Jalal Yunus, expressed his joy and also informed the media about the possibility of receiving a ‘Bonus’ following an emphatic win.

"They always have bonus on the tip of their tongue. But definitely it will happen as I have spoken with the BCB president. Once they arrive in Dhaka, he will have dinner with the team and I think there may be an announcement and it's (bonus) going to happen," Jalal told the media in Mirpur on Saturday.

"I think it's a big win and, more importantly, we were able to beat New Zealand at home -- which is a big achievement. As you know New Zealand came with their full-strength side. They have covered all the aspects from the pace, spin and batting unit since it's a part of the World Test Championship. From that point, our boys played brilliantly."

Bangladesh played the Test match without their experienced campaigners like Taskin Ahmed, Shakib Al Hasan, etc. Jalal took notice of that and fired shots at critics, who questioned Bangladesh’s lack of depth in Test Cricket.
