On Wednesday, Pakistan will take on Bangladesh in the first Test of the upcoming two-match series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. 

Led by Shan Masood, Pakistan have already confirmed their playing XI for the high-octane clash. Considering the seam-friendly conditions in Rawalpindi, the hosts have decided to field a four-man pace attack in the series opener. 

Regarding their batting, a lot will depend on Babar Azam, who will play a pivotal role for the hosts. Additionally, he eyes several major batting milestones in the series as mentioned below. 

4000 runs in Test cricket

Since making his debut in 2016 against West Indies, Babar Azam has been an integral member of Pakistan's Test setup. 

The Lahore-born cricketer has enjoyed stellar success in red-ball cricket, scripting numerous memorable wins for the Men in Green. 

Notably, Babar currently has 3898 runs and hence needs only 102 runs to breach the 4000-run mark in the purest format. If he achieves this feat, he will be the twelfth Pakistani batter to do so. 

14000 runs across formats

Babar Azam, who has an impressive record at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, also has a golden opportunity to complete 14000 runs across three formats of the game. Currently, Babar sits at fifth on the list of all-time highest run-getters for Pakistan with 13772 runs. 

So, he needs 228 more runs to attain the feat, which is pretty much achievable in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. 

3000 runs in WTC history

Babar Azam can also become the first-ever batter from Pakistan to record 3000 runs in the history of World Test Championship. 

In three WTC cycles, Babar has emerged as Pakistan's most prolific performer with the bat, amassing 2661 runs in 29 Tests. So, if he scores 339 more runs, the elegant batter will achieve the phenomenal batting feat.
