In a significant development, the three-match ODI series between Australia and Pakistan, initially scheduled for March 13–19, 2026, is now likely to be postponed, according to fresh reports. Discussions are ongoing between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Cricket Australia (CA) as both boards explore a revised window for the limited-overs contest.

According to GeoSuper report, the ODIs, which were part of the Future Tours Programme (FTP), are now expected to be shifted to a period after the conclusion of PSL Season 11. The final decision is expected soon, as both boards are working through scheduling challenges.

ODI series may move, but T20Is remain unchanged

While the ODI series remains under discussion, Australia’s tour of Pakistan for a three-match T20I series is confirmed to go ahead as planned. The T20Is will take place from January 30 to February 5, 2026, ahead of the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

The T20 leg remains unaffected despite the expected reshuffling of the ODIs.

Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg, speaking during an online press conference on June 3, expressed confidence in Australia’s upcoming tours of Pakistan. He emphasised the strong relationship between the two cricket boards and praised Pakistan for their hospitality during Australia's 2022 tour.

“I believe it will be another good tour of Pakistan. The series against Pakistan is an important part of our schedule. There has been good communication between Pakistan and Australia regarding both red-ball and white-ball series,” Greenberg said.

“We need to look for more opportunities for series, which we will definitely do. We would like to play a series in Pakistan. In 2022, we toured Pakistan after a long gap, and the tour was very successful. The Australian team received a warm welcome. It would be great if such series continue to happen,” he added.

With PSL 11 set to run in February-March 2026, the boards are expected to choose a window that avoids logistical and player workload overlaps.
