The mother of all rivalries was once again their to witness for the whole world. India took on Pakistan in the second match of Asia Cup 2022 at the Dubai International Stadium.

Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to field first. The Indian bowlers were on the money from the very beginning and did not let the Pakistani batters settle down. Hardik Pandya did the job for the team in the middle overs (3 for 25) while Bhuvneshwar Kumar  (4 for 26) took charge of giving India a strong start and a good finish.

The highest scorer for the Pakistan team was Mohammad Rizwan, who played an anchor's role scoring 43 runs off 42 deliveries.  At the end of their  19.5 overs Pakistan managed to put on a total of 147 runs on the board.

India were given a rude shock at the very beginning of the chase as Naseem Shah dismissed KL Rahul on the second delivery of the innings. While Virat Kohli (35 of 34) stabilised the innings after the initial loss, it was Jadeja and Hardik Pandya who ensured that India got across the line.

The match went down the line as India needed 7 runs off the last over and Mohammad Nawaz picked up Jadeja off the first ball.  But Hardik kept his composure and took India home hitting a six in the 4th delivery of the last over.  The pick of the bowler for Pakistan was Mohammad Nawaz, who picked up 3 wickets for 33 runs of 3.4 overs. The young debutant Naseem Shah was also brilliant on the night.

The fans were seen praising the close competition between the two teams and the composure of Hardik Pandya on Twitter.
