Pakistani speedster Shaheen Afridi, who troubled the Indian top order in the 2021 T20 World Cup, got injuried just days ahead of the start the Asia Cup 2022.

Meanwhile discussing about how Shaheen Afridi will be missed by Pakistan, the former Pakistan captain gave a great insight to the technical aspect of the game.

“For any bowler the ball coming into the stumps is always troublesome. Whenever I am coaching a young bloke, I tell them to try and hit the top of the stumps. The thing is that whoever may be the batter and whatever may be his class, if the ball is darting into your stumps at Shaheen’s pace it is difficult to face," Waqar cited.

“The fact that Shaheen has a good height is already an advantage for him. Add to that the angle created by a left arm pacer. It creates a blind spot for the batter, and he tends to fall over the line.

"This is what I feel that not only the Indian batters, batters all-round the world will try and avoid a proper left-arm pacer if given the choice,” the 50-year-old further stated.
