In another setback for England, star all-rounder Liam Livingstone became the latest victim of an injury that also ruled him out of the ongoing edition of The Hundred.

Livingstone, who plays for Birmingham Phoenix sustained an ankle injury, which effectively rules him out of the side's remaining matches in the competition.

The Phoenix have announced Sol Budinger as Livingstone's replacement.

"The 29-year-old (Livingstone) has an ankle injury, which will rule him out of Birmingham Phoenix’s final two Hundred group matches, the first of which is this evening, and the knockouts if they make it that far. Sol Budinger has been called up as a replacement," Evening Standard reported.

The seven-match T20I series between England and Pakistan now puts the former in a tough spot. As the selectors will soon announce the squad for the series, the likes of Livingstone, Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy may not be available for the whole lot of games.

Skipper Buttler has a calf injury, while Jason Roy is suffering from a back spasm.

The team's first-choice bowling arsenal, including Chris Jordan, Jofra Archer, Reece Topley and Tymal Mills, was sidelined in the Hundred as they are currently injured.

Adding to the woes, there is still no update on Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow's participation in the Pakistan series as the duo are also a crucial part of the side's Test set-up, which is batting with South Africa in home rubbers.
