To the delight of cricket fans across the globe, the much-anticipated Asia Cup 2023 kickstarts on August 30, with Pakistan taking on a spirited Nepal side in the tournament opener in Multan. With six top-class teams set to battle it out for the coveted trophy, the tournament promises to be an absolute blockbuster for the Asian cricket fanatics.
Asia Cup 2023 Venues
The Asia Cup 2023 will be played in Sri Lanka and Pakistan across four different venues- Colombo, Pallekele, Multan and Lahore. While Pallekele, Multan and Lahore will host the first seven matches, the last six games, including the all-important final, will be played in Colombo.
Asia Cup 2023 Format
The six participating teams are divided in two groups, each comprising three sides. While arch-rivals India and Pakistan are placed in Group A alongside Nepal, Group B is studded with three extremely competitive teams- Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
The showpiece event starts with six group-stage matches, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the Super Four. Furthermore, six Super Four games will be conducted before the top two proceed to the tournament final, scheduled at the iconic R Premadasa stadium in Colombo.
