The women's edition of The Hundred 2024 has come to an end as London Spirit beat Welsh Fire in the finals to win the title for the first time in the tournament's history.

The Fire, batting first, put 115 runs on the board, courtesy of Deepti Sharma's fielding efforts and a crucial wicket. What looked like an easy chase went down the wire as the Spirit required three to win off three balls which is when Deepti shone with the bat as well and hit a six to seal the deal for London.

Nonetheless, credit must go to Shabnim Ismail for her efforts as she took three wickets in the game and all clean-bowled. Firstly, she knocked over Meg Lanning's stumps.

On the 2nd ball of the 3rd set, Ismail bowled a peach of a delivery to which Lanning had no clue and returned to the pavilion with a score of 4 (9).

Not just Lanning, but whenever she came to bowl, Shabnim delivered for her side and took crucial wickets of Heather Knight and Danielle Gibson that too on the first ball of her set.
