England Women are heading towards an unfavourable result in the three-match ODI series against India Women. Starting the series as favourites, the host made a poor start as they lost by seven wickets. They have now continued their lean patch in the second game as well to hand India an unassailable lead of 2-0.

The batters let the team down as England Women lost the second One Day International by a whopping 88 runs. Put to bat first, India Women caused carnage on the field. They registered their highest-ever total against England, courtesy of skipper Harmanpreet Kaur.

The Women in Blue started off on a poor note with Shafali Verma walking back after scoring eight runs off seven balls. The other opening batter Smriti Mandhana stabilized the team by hammering 40 runs. Meanwhile, it was  Harmanpreet who stunned the English viewers.
