On Tuesday, Worcestershire County Cricket Club announced the appointments of Alan Richardson and Kadeer Ali as their new head coach and assistant head coach, respectively.

The former bowling coach Richardson will succeed Alex Gidman, who stepped down from the role last month. Richardson and Kadeer will take charge of the men's first team immediately.

Speaking of their appointments and shouldering the new duties, the coaching duo said they are eager to work closely with the senior and academy squads during the winter and help the young players fine-tune their skills.

Here's what Richardson stated

"I've been involved in the club for a long time now and know its rich history. It's a proud moment for me to take on this role at Worcestershire."

"Kadeer and I always work hard to improve and develop players and we look forward to working more closely with our professional squad and the famous production line of talent from our academy."

Kadeer Ali, who has been promoted to assistant head coach from leading the second XI also opened up on the double appointment, saying it's a great opportunity for them and they are looking forward to giving their best to the Club.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for me and I’m really excited for the future of the club too."

"We've got a young, hungry squad, and everyone has their best days in front of them. I'm excited about working with the players on a full-time basis."
