Afghanistan star fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has been advised to take six weeks of complete rest after suffering a shoulder injury. The young pacer first experienced pain in his left calf during a recent match, which was followed by discomfort in his shoulder.
As a result, he underwent medical tests, including MRI scans, to determine the exact cause. According to the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), while the calf pain was found to be normal, scans revealed a stress fracture in his shoulder. This injury has also led to a ligament tear, which can take several weeks to heal.
Doctor Recommends Rest And No Cricket Activity For Naveen-ul-Haq
Following the scans, doctors have strongly advised Naveen-ul-Haq to avoid any physical strain, including lifting heavy weights and playing cricket. He has been prescribed a six-week rest period to help his shoulder recover properly.
For further treatment, Naveen has been taken to a hospital in England, where he had earlier received care from the same specialist. This ensures continuity in his medical treatment and increases his chances of a full recovery.
Injury Forces Naveen-ul-Haq Out Of Major League Cricket and Shpageeza League
Unfortunately, the injury has also ruled Naveen out of ongoing and upcoming cricket tournaments. Most recently, he was playing for MI New York in the Major League Cricket (MLC), where he had taken 8 wickets in 5 innings. However, as of July 6, he has been officially ruled out of the league and replaced by Fabian Allen, a Caribbean all-rounder.
In addition to that, Naveen’s injury comes just weeks before the Shpageeza Cricket League, which is set to begin on July 19 in Kabul. His absence will be a big blow for both fans and teams looking forward to seeing the star pacer in action.
