Rashid Khan To Make Test Comeback Against Zimbabwe
Meanwhile, Afghanistan Cricket Board's Chief Executive Naseeb Khan has confirmed Rashid Khan's Test comeback in the Zimbabwe series. Speaking to Cricbuzz, Naseeb stated that the board was waiting for Rashid to regain his fitness after recovering from back surgery.
"We are confident that Rashid will play for us in the Test series against Zimbabwe. He (Rashid) had a long recovery due to his back surgery and we wanted him to recover fully before taking the load of playing Test cricket. Now he looks fine and ready to feature for us in Test cricket," he said.
A Timeline Of Rashid Khan's Back Surgery
Afghanistan's premier spin bowler Rashid Khan underwent a lower back surgery in November last year. Despite recovering quickly from it, he didn't participate in the New Zealand Tests as a precautionary measure. The ACB had announced that Rashid wouldn't play Tests at least until November, with doubts looming over his participation in the Zimbabwe series. However, as he has regained fitness, it will be interesting to see if he brings out his best version in the red-ball matches against the Chevrons.
