Australia's premier spinner Adam Zampa has extended his stay at the Melbourne Stars for a period of another two years. His contract was about to expire after the end of this season but will now run through to the 2025/26 edition of the competition.

After spending seven years at the club, Zampa has called the club his home and hopes to end the burning desire to win the trophy, which he termed an unfinished business.

The leg-spinner initially started his BBL journey with Sydney Thunder for his first season, after which he shifted his base to Adelaide Strikers for the next two years before moving to his current club.

Zampa calls the club his home

"I've been at the Stars for quite a long time now, so I definitely call it home. There's quite a bit of unfinished business – we're yet to win the title, so there's still that bit of burning desire left for quite a few of us at the club."

Zampa joined Stars in 2015/16 and has since played in 67 matches picking up 82 wickets, turning out to be the prime bowler for the Australian side as well as his BBL side.

Overall, he has claimed a total of 98 wickets in his Big Bash career, proving himself to be a valuable commodity for his side.
