IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad have announced Brian Lara as their head coach for the 2023 edition of the league. This news comes after it was reported that SRH and Tom Moody have decided to part ways after two disappointing seasons.

Lara, who was working as a strategic advisor and batting coach of the side from the last season, will now don the head coach's hat for the next season of the prized tournament.

This will be the very first time that the former West Indian skipper will be at the helm of things as a head coach in a T20 tournament.

After his departure from SRH, Moody said, "It's been a great journey, and I wish them well."

Recently, outgoing coach Moody was selected as Director of Cricket for Desert Vipers for the inaugural season of ILT20 scheduled to take place in UAE in January-February. The Australian coached the franchise successfully between 2013 till 2019, and later, he returned as the Director of Cricket along with Trevor Bayliss as head coach.
