ISPL 2026 auction on December 9 [Source: @ispl_t10/x]
The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) will be making its return through the upcoming third edition of the tournament. The auction for the same will be organized on Tuesday, December 9 later this month in Mumbai.
As many as 408 players from 101 different cities are expected to go under the hammer at the auction, as all eight franchises aim to shape their squads for the tennis ball T10 tournament next month.
Players to be divided in six categories at ISPL 2026 auction
As per a media release by the ISPL, the auction for the upcoming 2026 edition of the tournament will take place on November 9, with as many as 408 players lining up to go under the hammer. While a total of 400 players were selected after rigorous player trials, each of the eight competing franchises will be allowed to pick a scout player from the existing season 3 registered pool of cricketers, thus bringing the overall auction size of 408 players.
Players at the auction will also be divided into six different categories, namely Under 19, West Zone, East Zone, Central Zone, South Zone and North Zone.
As reported by ANI, the base price for each player is valued at Rs. 3 lakhs, and the overall purse of each franchise has been increased to Rs. 1.5 crores. The squad strength has also been expanded from 16 players to 18.
Former Indian cricketer and ISPL Core Committee Member Sachin Tendulkar described season three of ISPL as yet another “important step for grassroots” cricket in India. The 2011 World Cup winning cricketer expressed his excitement and said that he is looking forward to seeing the youngsters approach the challenge in ISPL.
Apart from the auction, the ISPL 2026 season is scheduled to be played between January 9 and February 6. All matches will be hosted by the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat.
