On Sunday, India will lock horns with New Zealand in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy at Dubai International Stadium. Virat Kohli has showcased remarkable form and could play a significant role for the Men in Blue in this match.

Led by Rohit Sharma, India have been unbeaten in the competition so far. Virat Kohli has starred with the bat, scoring 217 runs at an average of 72.33 and a strike rate of 83.14.

Virat Kohli Aims To Break 3 Huge Records In Final

Meanwhile, the legendary Indian batter has a golden opportunity to break three massive records in the Champions Trophy final, as mentioned below.

1. Most ODI runs for India vs New Zealand

Regarded as the God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar is India's most successful ODI batter against New Zealand, having amassed 1750 runs. Interestingly, Virat Kohli has already struck 1656 ODI runs against the Kiwis.

So, if he scores 95 runs in the final, he will overtake Tendulkar and register the most ODI runs for India against the BlackCaps.

2. Most ODI hundreds for India vs New Zealand

Talismanic opener Virender Sehwag holds the record for the most ODI hundreds for India against New Zealand. Sehwag has six hundreds to his name, while Virat Kohli has already equalled his tally.

So, if Kohli slams a century in the Champions Trophy final, he will overtake Sehwag and record the most tons for India against New Zealand in ODI cricket.

3. Most runs and 50+ scores in ICC ODI knockouts for India

Currently, Sachin Tendulkar claims the top spot on the list of India's most successful batters in knockout matches of ICC ODI events. The Master Blaster has 657 runs to his name, with Virat Kohli following him with 530 runs.

If Kohli scores 128 runs in the final, he will dethrone Tendulkar and occupy the first position. Additionally, Tendulkar has six fifty-plus scores, as opposed to Kohli's five, in ICC knockouts. So, if the Delhi cricketer slams a fifty, he will equal the Master Blaster on the elite list.
