113 Spot Climb Among All-Rounders: Saim Ayub Reaches New Heights; Babar Azam At Top In ICC Rankings

In a significant development, the ICC has revealed its weekly rankings on Wednesday, December 25. Pakistan’s young star, Saim Ayub, has made a remarkable leap in the ICC rankings, following his outstanding performances in the recently concluded ODI series against South Africa.
It is important to mention that, Saim Ayub, scored two centuries in the series, and due to his significant contribution he has moved up 113 places in the all-rounder rankings.
The 22-year-old also climbed 57 spots in the batter's rankings, sitting in the 23rd position. His superb contributions with both bat and ball have earned him 603 points, placing him in joint position with Kusal Mendis among the ODI batters.
Babar Azam Continues To Dominate In Latest ICC Rankings
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s batting maestro, Babar Azam, has retained his position as the world’s No. 1 ODI batter. And it is important to mention that he has held this title now for four consecutive years. Despite recent pressure and struggle with form, he bounced back to form with two half-centuries against South Africa.
Mohammad Rizwan has also made progress and advanced three places currently at 21st position with 612 points in the ODI Batting Rankings. Salman Ali Agha also enjoyed a notable improvement as well, as he moved up 28 spots to 80th position, with 468 rating points.
Abdullah Shafique struggled during the South Africa series with three consecutive ducks, that led to his drop now sitting at 98th in the ODI rankings.
In the ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings, Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf saw a slight dip, slipping from 15th to 16th. Meanwhile, Mohammad Wasim Jr. continues to hold a mid-ranking spot at 61st. However, young pacer Naseem Shah made notable progress, jumping 10 places, from to 51st position.
