The Women's T20 World Cup is all set to start on October 3rd, with Bangladesh taking on Scotland in the curtain raiser. The tournament has been moved from Bangladesh to the U.A.E., and the matches will be played in Sharjah and Dubai. Australia are the defending champions, while India and England are also strong contenders.

India have a balanced squad at their disposal with plenty of match-winners and experienced cricketers. In the 2020 edition of the Women's T20 World Cup, India played in the final, while in the last edition, they lost the semifinal to Australia. So, they have been consistently playing good cricket and would be itching to cross the final hurdle this time around and bring home the much-awaited trophy. Let's now see who those three players will be, who will be crucial for India's success in this marquee tournament.

Smriti Mandhana

Smriti Mandhana is arguably the best batter in the Indian team. She is an experienced cricketer who has played against best of the players and in varied conditions. Her performance at the top of the order will be very important for India as he has all the gears in her arsenal and can destroy bowling attacks with ease when she is in full flow.

Mandhana has played 21 matches so far in Women's T20 World Cup and has played some impactful knocks which include a fantastic 83 off 55 balls against Australia in T20 World Cup 2018. The knock helped India beat the mighty Aussies, and if she can dish out such quality knocks against big teams in this World Cup, India might well lift their first Women's T20 World Cup trophy.

Deepti Sharma

Deepti Sharma is one of the leading all-rounders in world cricket. She is very consistent with the ball and can perform under pressure with the bat as well. She has taken 131 wickets in 107 T20Is so far, and on pitches that are expected to assist spinners, she would be crucial for India. Also, the all-rounder can bowl both in the Powerplay and at the death, making her an invaluable asset.

In the recently held Women's Hundred, Deepti displayed great improvement in her strike-rate, which is great news for India. So, with all-round qualities and flexibility both as a batter and bowler, Deepti is surely one of the players to watch out for in this T20 World Cup.

Richa Ghosh

The wicketkeeper batter is one of the finest young talents in world cricket. She has the power-game to destroy best of the bowlers and India would need her to fire if they want to beat big teams like Australia and England in this World Cup.

In the last few World Cups, India have lost some big games due to its tendency to choke under pressure. So, India need someone reliable and a player with a power game in the lower middle order. Richa Ghosh has shown so far that she has the finishing skills to deliver under pressure. This makes her an important pillar of the batting line-up and one of the players to watch in India's World Cup campaign.
