Sanju Samson, Nandre Burger duriing early stages of IPL 2024 (BCCI)
Rajasthan Royals will go up against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday (May 12) in Match 61 of IPL 2024 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The Sanju Samson-led side, with eight wins and three defeats, are second on the points table.
Even though Rajasthan suffered a 20-run loss in their previous fixture against Delhi Capitals, they don't have too many areas to worry about. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler have been blowing hot and cold, but their skipper, Sanju Samson, has been leading by example this season to keep his side among the top two sides on the chart.
However, there is a possibility of Nandre Burger making a comeback in Rajasthan's playing XI. They have been struggling to perform a spirited performance collectively, and Burger, who did not leave wicketless even once in his four matches earlier this season, could be back to rectify things.
At the same time, Burger's return will bench Donovan Ferreira, who just made his debut in the competition. Hence, there is little chance of Burger's comeback, as the RR think tank, led by Kumar Sangakkara, doesn't believe in too much chopping-and-changing ideology.
