In the 46th match of the ongoing IPL edition, Rohit Sharma registered an unwanted IPL record for the most number of ducks/single-digit scores. The Mumbai Indian skipper who is currently averaging 20.44 with the bat,  has been outsmarted by some top-quality bowling this season. In the fixture against PBKS, Sharma was dismissed for a duck in the third ball of the MI run chase.

With that dismissal, Rohit now has 15 ducks to his name and has equalled the record for the most amount of ducks as an IPL batter, currently at par with Dinesh Karthik, Mandeep Singh and Sunil Narine, all of whom have been dismissed on a duck 15 times as well.

After being asked to bat, Punjab Kings made an explosive start to their innings where Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma tore the MI bowling. It was a day to forget for the MI bowlers as their top gun Jofra Archer went for plenty going at 14 RPO.

With a massive target of 215 on the board, MI had to get off to an electrifying start but that plan never materialised. MI got off to the worst possible start as Rohit Sharma fell to Rishi Dhawan in the 3rd ball of the first over without a run on the board. Sharma paid the price for displaying his aggressive intent.

Furthermore, the 36-year-old also claimed the record for most single-digit scores in the tournament leaving Dinesh Karthik (68) and Robin Uthappa (57) behind. The Mumbai skipper has been dismissed on a single-digit score on 70 occasions in the IPL tournament.

After a wobbly start to their second innings, MI recovered well and chased down the mammoth target with seven balls to spare. Ishan Kishan shined with the bat and was later adjudged Man of the Match for his swashbuckling knock of 75 (41) who powered Mumbai Indians to an emphatic victory.
