Rizwan likely to drop Aamir Jamal Source: @ZimCricketv/X.Com]
After an embarrassing defeat in the ODI series opener against Zimbabwe, the Pakistan side came back in style with an emphatic 10-wicket win on Tuesday. Chasing an easy 146, Pakistan made a mockery of the target as the world witnessed the Saim Ayub show at Bulawayo.
The talented Pakistan batter showcased his prowess with a 53-ball century, which was also the joint-fastest ODI ton scored by a Pakistan batter. Saim remained unbeaten as alongside Abdullah Shafique, he steered the visitors to a comfortable win.
The caravan now shifts towards the series decider as Pakistan will look to win their second successive ODI series win, after thrashing Australia. However, for that, they need to make one surprising change in their lineup.
Aamir Jamal faces axe from captain Rizwan
While all the Pakistani bowlers have done an exceptional job in the series, Aamir Jamal has been off colour in the two matches. In the first match which Pakistan lost, he picked up just a solitary wicket and conceded 42 runs. While all his teammates picked wickets for fun, Jamal was taken to the cleaners.
Similarly, in the second match, he bowled 4 overs and conceded 24 runs, at an economy of 6 runs per over. While others churned out wickets, he failed to pick up a single scalp. Hence, Pakistan will look to omit him from the squad. In his place, Mohammad Rizwan will likely bring in either of Mohammad Hasnain in the side.
Apart from that, the visitors should go in with the same lineup and should be the favourites to clinch the series.
Pakistan's probable XI for 3rd ODI
Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Rizwan (c & wk), Agha Salman, Tayyab Tahir, Irfan Khan, Mohammad Hasnain, Haris Rauf, Faisal Akram, Abrar Ahmed
