Who Will Win Today’s PAK vs BAN Match?

Case 1: If Pakistan Bats First

If Pakistan is put to bat first in Rawalpindi, the opening duo of Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam will be expected to provide a steady start. With Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan (captain and wicketkeeper), and Agha Salman forming the core of the middle order, Pakistan will look for stability and acceleration.

The likes of Khushdil Shah, Faheem Ashraf, and Usman Khan will be responsible for providing the late flourish. If the batters put up a decent total with the bat, the Pakistan pace attack will be ready to take on Bangladesh and defend the chase with Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi leading the charge.

Case 2: If Bangladesh Bats First

If Bangladesh bats first against Pakistan in their Champions Trophy encounter, they will aim to set a strong total, relying on their experienced batting lineup. Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto, along with Tanzid Hasan and Towhid Hridoy, will be crucial at the top, while the middle order boasts the likes of Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad to stabilize the innings.

All-rounders Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Rishad Hossain can provide finishing firepower, while the bowling attack, led by Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman, will look to defend the target effectively. A competitive first-innings total will be key for Bangladesh to challenge Pakistan’s batting strength.

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi - Pitch Report

The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, known for its batting-friendly conditions, is set to play a bit differently after heavy rain on the eve of the Australia vs South Africa match. While the pitch usually offers true bounce and minimal seam movement, the possibility of retained moisture could assist pacers early on with extra bounce and subtle seam movement.

A slower outfield may also make boundary-hitting difficult in the initial stages. Spinners might struggle initially due to reduced grip but could become effective later in the day. With chasing teams historically favoured here, the toss decision could see captains choosing to bowl first.
