Lucknow Super Giants will take on Gujarat Titans in match 21 of the ongoing Indian Premier League season on Sunday evening at their home ground, Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. 

Led by KL Rahul, Lucknow Super Giants had a disastrous start to their IPL 2024 campaign, losing the first game against Rajasthan Royals. However, they made a remarkable comeback in the competition, securing thumping wins over Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. 

While Quinton de Kock and Nicholas Pooran have come out with all guns blazing, the poor form of Devdutt Padikkal and Ayush Badoni has let the Super Giants down in the competition. 

Both Padikkal and Badoni are yet to breach the two-digit mark in an innings, and given their lean patch, the LSG think tank might consider benching at least one of them in this match. 

Padikkal is likely to get a long rope as he bats at the crucial number three position for the Super Giants. Also, being a left-hander, the Karnataka batter ensures flexibility in LSG's batting order. 

So, if LSG drop Badoni, they might bring Deepak Hooda into the playing XI, as he played a flamboyant cameo against the Royals. 

Among others, ace spinner Ravi Bishnoi has been unimpressive with the ball, scalping a solitary wicket in three appearances. However, given his past exploits for the side, LSG will persist with him, giving him a well-deserved long rope.
