In a significant development, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been invited to bat first in the all-important IPL 2024 clash against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. 

Led by Faf du Plessis, RCB have made a solitary change to their playing XI, replacing Anuj Rawat with Saurav Dilipsingh Chauhan. 


Who is Saurav Dilipsingh Chauhan? 

After Faf du Plessis called him an exciting talent during the toss, Saurav Dilipsingh Chauhan became one of the most searched names in India. The 23-year-old, born in Ahmedabad, represents Gujarat in the Indian domestic circuit.

Hailed for his scintillating stroke play, Saurav Chauhan made his domestic debut in a T20 game between Gujarat and Kerala in November, 2021, in Delhi. Despite blowing hot and cold in First-Class cricket, Saurav has been an integral member of Gujarat's white-ball teams. 

Besides scoring 476 runs in 13 List-A innings, the explosive southpaw has amassed 464 T20 runs, including four half-centuries, at a blistering strike rate of 152.13. 

The young batter, who holds the record for the highest strike rate in an innings in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with at least 10 balls played, was purchased by RCB for his base price of INR 20 Lakhs in the mini auction conducted last year. 

Therefore, considering his incredible batting prowess, we expect the youngster to play an impactful knock for RCB in their high-voltage clash against the Royals tonight.
