The Gujarat Titans have been the most consistent team in the last two editions of the Indian Premier League. They are one of the two newest teams in the competition. The Titans won the title in their first edition and then finished as the runners-up in the next.

Depth in the batting department
The Gujarat Titans batting lineup looks strong for the IPL 2024. They have a good variety in the batting order. The top order looks excellent with Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha, B Sai Sudharsan, and Kane Williamson. There are grafters like Williamson and Saha and dynamic batters like Gill and Sai Sudharsan.
Moving onto the middle order, GT boasts of David Miller, Abhinav Manohar, Shahrukh Khan, Rashid Khan, Rahul Tewatia, and Azmatullah Omarzai. All these batters are dynamic and can change the complexion of any game. Anyone of these players can take the team home on their day.
Variety and depth in the bowling line-up
The pace bowling unit of the team has the likes of Umesh Yadav, Spencer Johnson, Mohit Sharma, and Kartik Tyagi. While Yadav can be lethal with the new ball, Spencer Johnson can be dangerous to any batting line-up with his raw pace. There is also Josh Little who can be very effective with the new ball.
While these three will lead the pace attack with the new ball, Mohit Sharma will be their prime weapon in the death overs with his variations.

Shubman Gill, the skipper
The prime reason behind GT's success in their first two editions was the leadership of Hardik Pandya. However, before the IPL 2024 auction, Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians. Thus, the responsibility of leading the team in IPL L2024 will be on Shubman Gill.
This will be the young Indian star's first stint as a captain. He has not led any team on a big stage before this. Gill's inexperience in leading a team might be a disadvantage for the team in a big tournament like IPL.

Inconsistency of their finishers
Miller, Manohar, Tewatia, Rashid Khan, and Omarzai have proven themselves as finishers in the tournament. However, the inconsistency of these players might become a concern for the team. These players have proven themselves time and again in the last two editions. But they have been inconsistent previously, and the resurgence of this feature might be a trouble for the Titans.
Opportunities for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024
Chance for Gill to prove himself as a leader
As this will be Shubman Gills' s first shot at captaincy, he will have a chance to prove himself. If Gill has a successful stint and leads GT to the title, it will establish him as a future leader of Team India.
Reclaiming their title
The Gujarat Titans managed to win the IPL title in their debut season in 2022. They had another successful run in the next season in 2023 and reached the final. Unfortunately, they lost the summit clash to Chennai Super Kings. So, IPL 17 allows them to reclaim their title and establish themselves as one of the strongest teams in the tournament.

Succumbing under pressure
Hardik Pandya led the team from its inception and created a calm dressing room environment under pressure. In his absence, a void might be created in the leadership core, and hence, the team might succumb to pressure in the crunch matches.
Volatile nature of the middle order
The middle-order of the Gujarat Titans have proved themselves under pressure in the last two editions. GT have always found a match-winner in the pressure situation. But the players in the middle order of GT have a history of being inconsistent. If the law of averages catches up with the team in this edition, it is a significant threat to the team in the crucial matches.
