1 .Mohammed Siraj
- The first and foremost name in this list is speedster Mohammed Siraj. He deserved a place in the squad undoubtedly because of his decent form. He has showcased decent performance in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, demonstrating impressive wicket-taking ability.
- Siraj ended up as India's second-highest wicket-taker of the series, with 20 scalps at an average of 31.15. His best bowling figures read an impressive 4/98. His experience and resilience, along with his good rhythm, certainly made a strong case for his inclusion.
2. Sanju Samson
- Sanju Samson unquestionably deserved a spot in the Champions Trophy Squad due to his extensive experience and his recent impressive form on the field. Known for his exceptional prowess in ODI, Samson has consistently demonstrated his ability to adapt and perform under pressure.
- One of his standout qualities is his flexibility as a batter; he is equally adept and comfortable playing at the no. 3 position, where he can anchor the innings, as well as the no. 6 position, where his aggressive style can provide the team with a much-needed boost in the late overs.
3. Nitish Kumar Reddy
- It was highly expected that Nitish Kumar Reddy would secure a spot in the Champions Trophy squad. He certainly deserved it given his recent form, highlighted by a remarkable century against Australia that helped India recover from a challenging position.
- Moreover, another compelling reason for his inclusion was his contribution as an all-rounder. Nitish not only excels with the bat but also has the ability to make meaningful contributions with the ball, adding depth to the team's performance.
