Pakistan are getting ready for their upcoming series against New Zealand, starting with a five-match T20I series on March 16 at Hagley Oval. Pakistan's vice-captain, Shadab Khan, was spotted practicing hard, hitting some impressive big shots during his preparation.

Pakistan’s Vice Captain Shadab Khan Warms Up with Big Hits

A video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s official X account shows Shadab showing off his skills on the field with powerful shots, including reverse shots. After being out of the spotlight since the last T20 World Cup, Shadab has been recalled to the squad and named vice-captain to Salman Ali Agha for the T20 series against New Zealand.

Pakistan will be playing five T20Is and three ODIs in this series, marking their return to action after a disappointing exit from the 2025 Champions Trophy. Despite hosting the tournament, Pakistan failed to win a single match and were eliminated in the group stage. New Zealand, however, made it to the final of the Champions Trophy, where they lost to India in a tense match.

Babar Azam And Rizwan Missing From T20I Squad

The Pakistan T20I team looks completely different now, following their poor performance in the ODI tournament. Mohammad Rizwan is no longer the T20I captain, with Salman Ali Agha taking over. Babar Azam and Rizwan are also missing from the squad, signaling a major change in the team.

On the other hand, New Zealand have named Michael Bracewell as their captain for this series. Many of their players who are set to play in the IPL are unavailable for the series, as the Indian Premier League begins on March 22.
