India will be soon announcing their squad for the upcoming edition of the Champions Trophy. It is expected that BCCI will be announcing the squad for the tournament on the 18th or 19th of January, 2025

Before the official squad is revealed, there are reports of what the squad may look like. Based on the latest reports and rumours, here is what India's squad for the tournament may look like -

India's Probable Squad For Champions Trophy 2025

Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Nitish Reddy, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Surya Kumar Yadav,  Kuldeep Yadav,  Axar Patel, Rishabh Pant (wk)

Reserves: Mohammed Siraj, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson

If this squad boards the flight for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, here is what the representation from each IPL team will look like -

1. Mumbai Indians - 4

Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav

In all probabilities, Rohit Sharma will be leading the Indian team in the tournament. Besides Rohit, the place of Hardik Pandya as the premier all-rounder is almost fixed too.

Jasprit Bumrah's injury status is yet to receive any official update. However, it is expected that he will be a part of the preliminary squad that will be announced. Alongside these three players, there is a chance that India will also take Suryakumar Yadav to the tournament.

So, if these four players get selected in India's Champions Trophy squad then 4 MI players will be in the side.

2. Delhi Capitals - 3

KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel

KL Rahul's selection of the squad is also among the clouds. However, looking at his recent displays with the bat, one can expect that India will take him to the tournament and he would be India's first-choice wicket-keeper batter.

Kuldeep Yadav is one of those players whose fitness is being monitored closely by the Indian selectors before announcing the CT 2025 squad. If he is deemed fit, he will be the prime spinner for the team.

Besides the two players, Axar Patel is also expected to be a part of the squad. The all-round performance of the player, especially with the bat in limited overs makes him a prime choice to be a part of the squad.

If these 3 players are selected then the Delhi Capitals will have 3 representatives from their IPL 2025 squad in the Champions Trophy.

3. Rajasthan Royals - 2

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson

There has been a lot of discussion about the selection of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson in India's Champions Trophy 2025 squad. Although not could be said in finality before the squad is revealed, one can expect that even if they are not a part of the 15, they could be the travelling reserves. In that case, the Rajasthan Royals will have 2 representatives in India's Champions Trophy squad for 2025.

4. Punjab Kings - 2

Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh

Shreyas Iyer has been one of India's best bets in the middle order in ODIs. He is currently in good batting form, too. So, Shreyas Iyer is expected to be a part of the CT 2025 squad. Punjab Kings have recently bought him and also named him the captain of the team. Therefore, he will be one of the representatives of the PBKS side in the squad.

Besides Iyer, the place of Arshdeep Singh also looks confirmed on the side. He will be one of India's key bowlers during the tournament. So, it is expected that Arshdeep and Iyer will be the two representatives of PBKS in India's Champions Trophy 2025 squad.

5. Gujarat Titans - 2

Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj

Shubman Gill has been the opener for India in ODIs. It is expected that India will take him as the first choice partner of Rohit Sharma for the Champions Trophy 2025. Gill is the captain of the GT team and will be one of the key representatives from the side in the squad.

Mohammed Siraj was released by RCB and then bought by Gujarat Titans during the IPL 2025 mega auction. Even though Mohammed Shami coming back, his chances of being a part of the playing XI decrease, it is expected that he will travel with the side even if as a travelling reserve.

If these two players get selected in the Champions Trophy 2025 squad then the GT will have two representatives.

6. Sunrisers Hyderabad - 2

Nitish Reddy, Mohammed Shami

Nitish Reddy has recently shown great temperament as a middle-order batter in the longest format of the game. The young Indian all-rounder is expected to get his call-up for the Champions Trophy 2025, given the way he has impressed everybody.

Mohammed Shami is fit and has proven himself in recent domestic contests. Given his utility as a pacer in the Indian line-up, Shami is expected to be there in India's Champions Trophy 2025 squad.

Gill and Shami getting selected will mean that there will to players from the GT side in the squad.

7. Royal Challengers Bengaluru - 1

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli will be one of the most vital cogs for the Indian team in the tournament. Given his impact and love for the ODI format, he is one of the most probable names in this squad.

It seems like Virat Kohli will be the only RCB player in India's CT 2025 squad.

8. Lucknow Super Giants - 1

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant was highest highest-paid cricketer in the IPL 2025 auction. He is considered one of the biggest match-winners for India. Even though there is doubt about him getting selected, given his record of changing the complexion of matches from any stage, Pant could be a part of the tea.

This would mean that LSG will have only one representative in the CT 2025 squad.

9. Chennai Super Kings - 1

Ravindra Jadeja

There is a chance that India will keep Ravindra Jadeja in the side. BCCI have trusted the player for bigger tournaments previously and keeping the trend in mind, he might board the flight to UAE. If it turns out true, then he will be the only representative from Chennai Super Kings on the side.

10. Kolkata Knight Riders -0

So far, it seems like KKR will have no representative in India's CT 2025 squad. However, Kuldeep Yadav's status is not cleared and there is a chance that Varun Chakravarthy will get a call-up. In that case, KKR will have only one representative on the side.
