The fifth match of the SA20 2025 season will see Durban Super Giants face off against Pretoria Capitals. The match is scheduled to take place on January 12 at SuperSport Park in Centurion at 7.00 PM IST.

So far, the SA20 2025 season has been quite exciting with its matches, and this match between DSG and PC looks promising as well. The two teams earlier clashed in the second fixture this season, with Super Giants clinching a narrow two-run victory in a high-scoring game. 

While chasing a 208-run target, Wiaan Mulder contributed with a blazing 45 off just 19 balls to help DSG clinch a last-ball thriller.

Kane Williamson, Mulder to retain their place

Chasing a 200+ score is always tricky in T20 cricket. However, veteran New Zealand batter Kane Williamson, who was playing his first game in SA20, took the lead of the Super Giants' inning with a majestic 60* off 40 balls. Except for 47 runs that Bryce Parsons made, Wiaan Mulder managed to get 45 off just 19 balls as DSG won the last game against the Capitals on the final ball.

Hence, given the previous game's heroics, Williamson, Parsons, and Mulder will likely retain their place in the playing XI. While Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen failed, the experienced players will back themselves to prove their mettle.

Junior Dala likely to replace Chris Woakes

The bowlers had a tough day in the previous game against Pretoria Capitals. English pacer Chris Woakes went for 42 runs in his four overs, and captain Keshav Maharaj also proved to be expensive with 39 runs. Hence, for the next game, the captain can likely include Junior Dala in the squad. Dala scalped a five-wicket-haul in SA20 2024 season against the same opposition, the Capitals. Hence, he can be a key asset in picking up wickets at regular intervals. 

Other than that, the Durban Super Giants side looks settled and strong enough to triumph against Pretoria Capitals on January 12.
