Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is gearing up to go against Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the Eliminator 2 of the IPL 2024 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium on 22nd May (Wednesday).

Once the table toppers, Sanju Samson and Co have seen their campaign come crashing down after losing 4 games on the trot. The entire Royals contingent looks alarmingly calm and with now just one chance in their hand to make it to the finals, they need to reassess their game plan and focus on putting their best foot forward.

On the other hand, RCB have had the perfect 'resurgence story', they dragged themselves from the 'literally' the bottom, won six games in a row and then defeated the 5-time champions, CSK to rightful claim the fourth spot in the points table. They would hope to keep that fire in them burning and continue to dominate in order to make it to the finals.

Just like the Eliminator, this enthralling clash will also take place in Ahmedabad. Let's take a look at the pitch analysis for this game.

RCB Vs RR Eliminator 2: Narendra Modi Stadium Pitch Report

The stadium has an average boundary length of 75 meters for straight boundaries and 60 meters for square boundaries, thereby making it easier for the batters to target the square region.

During the course of this tournament, two pitches have been used, one is a mix of both red and black soil and the other one solely comprises black soil.

If the curator decides to opt the first one, with the mix of soils, we could see batters come out on the top and a high-scoring game could prevail. However, if the latter is picked, the conditions won't favour the batters too much as the pitch would become slow and sluggish, and an average score of 160-170 runs could be set, if the team bats first.

Talking about bowlers, hit the deck spinners and seamers could have a successful evening if they play their cards right. And while the dew factor holds heavy weightage, it is expected that the team that wins the toss will opt to field first.
