India skipper Suryakumar Yadav is going through a lean patch with the bat. In the fourth T20I vs Australia, the right-handed batter started well but returned to the pavilion after scoring 20 (10), which featured two sixes.

The 35-year-old is having a troubled series and has managed just 84 runs in four innings. Further, the entire year has been underwhelming for Suryakumar Yadav as the right-handed batter has scored just 184 runs in 15 innings, averaging just 15.

There are questions raised over the 35-year-old as he is struggling for runs, and the fans feel that India should look beyond Suryakumar Yadav post 2026 T20 World Cup in India.

Meanwhile, this article will shed light on three Indian cricketers who can replace Suryakumar Yadav in the team post 2026 ODI World Cup.

1. Shreyas Iyer

The first name that comes to mind to replace Suryakumar Yadav in the side is Shreyas Iyer. At present, the star Indian batter is struggling to get into the team as selector Ajit Agarkar remarked that India are out of options to fit in the PBKS star.

Notably, the 30-year-old has not been a part of India's T20I set-up since 2023, but he is in the form of his life and showed his batting prowess in the shortest format of the game in IPL 2025.

Iyer was one of the leading run-getters in IPL 2025, and the management faced backlash for not picking Shreyas Iyer for the Asia Cup T20 squad

Let's look at how Shreyas Iyer has performed recently.

2. Riyan Parag

Another great option for Team India is to bring in Riyan Parag as SKY's replacement. Notably, the star all-rounder is already in the scheme of things and made his T20I debut in 2024.

Further, Parag has done well for Rajasthan Royals and was one of their finest batters last season. Notably, Parag can also bowl and is one of those players whom India head coach Gautam Gambhir admires.

3. Nehal Wadhera

If India have to proceed with an out-of-the-blue option, then Nehal Wadhera is also a great option. The southpaw showered temperament and batted beautifully during IPL 2025.

Wadhera impressed the critics with his performance, and his USP is that he has often pulled his teams out of trouble. Let's look at his detailed stats in recent tournaments.
