Weaknesses Of RCB For IPL 2025

3. Lack Of Designated Death Over Specialist

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have formed a great pace bowling unit. The presence of Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar give their bowling attack a solid outlook. However, a deeper analysis reveals that RCB lack a proper death over specialist. As a result they will have to find a combination to include someone like a Romario Shepherd or a Nuwan Thusara in their playing unit. These are bowlers who have experience of bowling in the death phase and hence can do the job for the Bengaluru based franchises in the upcoming edition.

2. Hit And Miss Middle Order

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have players like Liam Livingstone, Tim David, Jacob Bethell and Krunal Pandya, who can bat in the middle-order for them. While these players have the reputation of being big hitters, they do lack consistency. If these players find their rhythm early and the batting order clicks, then RCB will have great time and would be able to post some high scores. However, there could be days where they crumble under pressure as consistency might be an issue with these players.

1. Non Reliable Spin Department

If we look at the spin bowlers of RCB, they have Suyash Sharma and Swapnil Singh. Besides these two bowlers they Liam Livingstone and Krunal Pandya to fill up for the team. Thus we can see that there is the lack of a world class spinners in the RCB team. Thus it could be that despite putting the opposition under pressure. The loss of a quality spinner in the middle overs might not let them build pressure on the team facing them.
