Answering all the questions and curiosities of the fans, the IPL teams announced their retention lists for IPL 2025 on October 31, 2024. While there were surprises in the retention lists of a few teams, CSK was one of those franchises that stuck to their traditional strategy of keeping the core strong. They have retained five of their players from the previous year but had to release some of the youngsters who could have been a part of their future.

The young Indian all-rounder can play a steady hand with the bat in the middle-order and contribute effectively with the ball. Nishant Sandhu gives the team a great option as a backup if they want to use a spin-bowling all-rounder. Teams that have suffered due to a lack of depth in the spin department previously might look to draft in Sandhu to add depth, flexibility and dynamism to their squad. 

2. Rajvardhan Hangargekar

The young Indian all-rounder impressed everyone with his power-hitting and bowling abilities in the Under 19 World Cup 2022. Rajvardhan Hangargekar's exploits in the tournament earned him a contract with the CSK in the following IPL season. Although he did not get many opportunities to prove his worth, he looked shaky whenever he walked in the yellow jersey. 

However, in his domestic appearances, he has shown that he can bowl in tough times and use the long handle of his bat towards the end of an innings. All the IPL franchises will look to rope in a pace bowling all-rounder who can be efficient with both his trades.

With the Impact Rule in IPL playing a significant role in the teams' approach, Sameer Rizvi can be a valuable addition to any squad. He can be brought in during the batting innings to increase the scoring rate and put the team ahead.
