Sunrisers Hyderabad will launch their second half of IPL 2023 campaign with an away fixture against Delhi Capitals on April 29. The ‘Orange Army’ is currently on a three-game losing streak, thus taking their season tally to five defeats from their first seven fixtures.

The Sunrisers went up against the Capitals in their previous game as well. Chasing a modest 145 in front of their home crowd, Aiden Markram and co. stumbled in front of visiting spinners and pacers alike to fall seven runs short of their target.

Ahead of the much-awaited contest, here at OneCricket we predict Sunrisers Hyderabad’s strongest starting XI against the Capitals, along with five impact players.

Openers

Harry Brook and Mayank Agarwal

Harry Brook has so far managed just 163 runs in the first half of this season, with 100 of them coming against the KKR in a single match-winning knock. Despite his apparent struggles on spinning Indian wickets, one can expect the Englishman to be given a longer rope in the tournament.

Mayank Agarwal, on the other hand, has regained his lost touch at the top of the order. The cricketer returned with two notable 40-plus scores in the last two innings he was asked to open alongside Brook.

Middle Order

Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen and Marco Jansen

Abhishek Sharma has been getting good starts to his innings this season but the 22-year-old youngster is yet to convert any into a big one. Rahul Tripathi, on the other hand, hammered a match-winning 74* earlier in the tournament, only to go quiet in the subsequent four innings for his side.

Captain Aiden Markram himself will be looking to notch up a big score, even though the senior South African has plundered two match-winning efforts with the bat earlier.

Heinrich Klaasen has maintained staggering strike-rates this season, but the cricketer is yet to register a single half-century. He will likely continue within the SRH playing XI owing to his striking abilities in the death overs.

Bowlers

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, Mayank Markande and Mayank Dagar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s new-ball spells and Umran Malik’s thunderbolts has worked wonders for the Sunrisers off late. The two, alongside South African-based all-rounder Marco Jansen will continue to helm the SRH pace attack, with Mayank Markande and Mayank Dagar taking up the spin bowling department.

Earlier in the season, Markande mauled a strong PBKS batting line-up with a four-fer, and followed it up with another two-wicket spell against the KKR.

Dagar, on the other hand, has played just one game so far this year. He bowled reasonably well against CSK’s batting might, considering just 21 off his three overs. With Washington Sundar out of the remainder of the season owing to an injury, Dagar might well become SRH’s regular figure in the playing XI going ahead.

Predicted Playing XI of Sunrisers Hyderabad:

Harry Brook, Mayank Agarwal, Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram (c), Heinrich Klaasen, Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, Mayank Markande and Mayank Dagar
