The stage is set as India prepares to meet New Zealand for the second Test at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune from 24 October onwards.

After a gut-wrenching loss to the visitors, India hopes to bounce back stronger and level the series that saw the Kiwis take the lead. The New Zealand side's star players were Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway, William O'Rourke, and Matt Henry, and they could continue to exploit the conditions in the upcoming game.

On the other hand, India crumbled in the first innings for just 46 runs. However, the second innings saw Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, and Rishabh Pant all take full responsibility and put up a respectable fight against the opposition.

While the two gear up to face-off against one another, let's have a detailed look at their head-to-head records in Tests.

There could not be a better win for New Zealand in history, as they defeated India by eight wickets in the first Test at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, thus bagging their first Test win in India after 36 years.

India batted first on Day 2 after rain had washed out Day 1 but collapsed for just 46 runs, the lowest-ever total at home; Matt Henry (5/15) and William O'Rourke (4/22) wreaked havoc with the ball. New Zealand capitalised, making 402 runs, thanks to the glowing 134 runs by Rachin Ravindra.

India bounced back in the second innings, as Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan stitched together a 177-run stand; however, they eventually collapsed for 154 as New Zealand were given a target of 107.

Jasprit Bumrah took early wickets in the chase, but in the end, Will Young and Ravindra batted well. With this win, New Zealand takes a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, heading into the second Test in Pune on October 24.
