MI Cape Town will face Joburg Super Kings at the latter’s home ground, the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, in match number four of the SA20 2025 season. Marking MI Cape Town’s second match of the competition, the action is slated to commence from 9:00 PM IST onwards on Saturday, January 11.

The MI Cape Town, under the leadership of Rashid Khan, pulverized defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the opening match of the season on January 9. Delano Potgieter delivered a remarkable ‘Player of the Match’ performance with his all-round excellence. Dewald Brevis also cracked a scintillating half-century to set an early tone for MI Cape Town.

With MI Cape Town aiming to sustain its winning momentum this SA20 2025 season, we look at their probable playing XI for the match against Joburg Super Kings.

Ryan Rickelton To Replace Reeza Hendricks

Reeza Hendricks will likely be dropped from the MI Cape Town playing XI as the dashing opener was dismissed for a three-ball duck against Sunrisers a couple of days ago. The cricketer might well get replaced by fellow South African opening batter Ryan Rickelton, who holds an astonishing strike rate of 155.76 in SA20 matches.

Rassie van der Dussen will continue to open the innings, while wicketkeeper Connor Esterhuizen will bat at number three. Colin Ingram, Dewald Brevis and all-rounders George Linde and Azmatullah Omarzai can constitute the team’s middle order.

Kagiso Rabada To Remain Benched

All-rounder Delano Potgieter, who picked up an electric five-fer in the SA20 2025 opener, has surely justified his name in the MI Cape Town playing XI for the next few games. New Zealand speed demon Trent Boult will continue to helm his team’s new ball pace attack alongside Azmatullah Omarzai, with fellow pacemen Potgieter and Corbin Bosch assisting in the innings. Captain Rashid Khan himself will be expected to oversee the spin department of his team.
