Harry Brook, the young English batter, has pulled out of IPL 2025 due to unknown reasons. It has created a big hole in the Delhi Capitals' squad ahead of the next edition and they would now have to find an able replacement for the English star.
Harry Brook was bought for INR 6.25 Crore, and was expected to play an important role in the middle order for DC. They would now have to look for other overseas options, and here are three players who can potentially replace Harry Brook in DC's IPL 2025 squad.
1. Daryl Mitchell
Daryl Mitchell looks like a front-runner to replace Harry Brook given his stature in world cricket and his consistent performances in the last few years. He can bat anywhere in the batting order and it is the flexibility that he brings to the table with different gears to his batting that makes him special.

Criterion | Data |
---|---|
Innings | 9 |
Runs | 274 |
Average | 39.14 |
Strike-Rate | 158.38 |
As shown in the table, Daryl Mitchell was brilliant in T20Is in 2024 scoring his runs with great consistency and a strike-rate of close to 160. Also, he has the knack of performing under pressure and in IPL 2024, he did decently for CSK, scoring 318 runs in 13 innings. He scored his runs at an average of 28.90 and strike-rate of 142.60, and if needed, he can contribute with his bowling as well.
2. Ben Duckett
Ben Duckett has been in red-hot form across formats in recent times. He has quickly made himself one of the mainstays of England's batting line-up and can help DC get rapid starts if he gets signed as replacement. He was one of the shining lights for England in Champions Trophy 2025 and also played well in Indian conditions during the white-ball tour.

Innings | 198 |
Runs | 5159 |
Average | 30.89 |
Strike-Rate | 140.38 |
As shown in the table, Ben Duckett has truckloads of experience in T20 cricket with over 200 games and has healthy average as well as impressive strike-rate. Also, there are high chances that he could well translate the form of Champions Trophy into the IPL if he gets selected.
Ben Duckett is an excellent player of spin unlike many other English players which makes him an all-round cricketer and if needed he can bat in the middle order too, something which he has done in the past.
3. Dewald Brevis
Dewald Brevis, the South African youngster has not lived upto his billing after a successful U19 World Cup, but in recent times, he has shown that he is maturing as a cricketer. He is powerful hitter of the ball, and has batted from number 1 to number 7 in his brief career.
Thus, he will provide the flexibility that a team needs in a high-pressure tournament like IPL, and his past experience of playing for Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2022 and 2024 might also help him.

Criterion | Data |
---|---|
Innings | 10 |

As shown in the table, he was in brilliant form in SA20 2024/25, and in that tournament too, he was sent at different batting positions in varied situations. Thus, given the form and the flair he brings with his range in batting, he could be an ideal replacement for Harry Brook if DC is searching for a young talent.
