Pakistan have dealt a heavy blow as they lost Haris Rauf due to injury in the first-match of the Tri-series between the Men in Green, New Zealand, and South Africa. In the ongoing first match, Rauf was breathing fire and bowling gas as he clocked 144 kmph.
However, on the 2nd ball of his 7th over, he felt discomfort and pain on his side and immediately left the field in pain. Rauf did not return to complete his quota of overs and now the fans are worried whether Rauf will be fit in time for Champions Trophy. Even in case Rauf gets fit for the upcoming marquee event, then the PCB would look to bench him for the ongoing tri-series to let him recover.
This article will shed light on three players who replace Haris Rauf in Pakistan's squad for the tri-series.
1. Jahandad Khan
Talking about Haris Rauf's replacements, then the deserving one is Jahandad Khan. The 21-year-old has been scintillating and is doing all the needful to deserve a place in the Pakistani team.
It is worth noting that Jahandad earned a Pakistan call-up in 2024 and made his T20I debut against Australia in November. Further, he was Pakistan's 3rd leading wicket-taker in Champions One-Day Cup when he took 10 wickets in five matches.
Not only that, but Jahandad Khan also proved his mettle in the recently concluded BPL, where he took eight wickets to put on a good show. Thus, the left-arm seamer deserves a place in the team.

BPL 2024-25 | 8 | 6 |
2. Aamir Jamal
The deserving one is Aamer Jamal. The all-rounder, who was in the scheme of things for Pakistan, was left out of the squad in a shocking move. Notably, Jamal had a below-average 2024 but was still in talks to get a place in the side. However, the selectors went ahead with Faheem Ashraf as they prioritised specialised batters and bowlers over all-rounders.
Thus, in the case of Rauf's injury, Jamal seems to be the first one in the pecking order to get a call from the selectors to replace the injured star.

3. Mohammad Wasim Jr.
Considering Pakistan selectors' latest trend, they are going for surprise picks. Faheem Ashraf and Khushdil Shah's inclusion is proof of it. The selectors were impressed by their performance in BPL 2024-2025 and gave them a national call-up.
Similarly, Mohammad Wasim Jr, who was in the scheme of things for Pakistan till 2023 and played in the 2023 World Cup, was left out of the team, but he took nine wickets in BPL and that can help him get back in the Pakistani side as the surprise pick.
