In an anticipated fixture of the ongoing PSL 2024 season, table toppers Multan Sultans are slated to clash with Karachi Kings on the latter's home turf on Sunday. Ahead of the big game, Mohammad Rizwan is expected to make a couple of changes to his winning combination.

Multan Sultans have for sure been the team to beat this PSL season. Right from the word go, last year's runners-up have performed as a collective unit. Despite mediocre fielding efforts, the Sultans managed to cross the finish line each time with clinical cameos.

Having said that, in a bold call, the Sultans' captain, Mohammad Rizwan, fielded only two foreign players to allow local talent a platform to thrive and showcase their hidden talent.

But it was later revealed that a couple of players were batting niggles, and thus, the Multan Sultans management opted to rest that core group.

That being said, while the Sultans sit comfortably at the top, they cannot take any fixture for granted. Thus, ahead of the Sunday clash against Karachi Kings, Rizwan is expected to bring experienced foreign players back into the squad.

For instance, David Willey could make a comeback in place of Khushdil Shah, who's been ordinary this year. He went for 1/31 in his four-over quota against Lahore Qalandars and didn't get to bat much. With Usama Mir and Mohammad Ali leading the spin department, the Sultans would rather have a fast bowling option in the form of Willey.

In an additional change, Rizwan could consider dropping Shahnawaz Dahani if he has no plans to optimize his impact with the ball. Dahani is a specialist pace option, yet he was allowed only one over in the previous fixture. Chris Jordan has been warming the bench all season long, and if the Englishman is fit, he should replace Dahani in the lineup.

Besides these couple of areas of concern, Mohammad Rizwan mustn't alter the winning combination much. He's got a balanced unit at his helm, which is nothing short of a blessing under these present PSL circumstances.
