West Indies are set to lock horns with Bangladesh in the second and final Test of the series at Sabina Park, Jamaica, starting Saturday, November 30. The hosts will aim for a whitewash whereas the visitors will look to level the series.

West Indies

In the first Test, the Windies came out swinging. Mikyle Louis smashed 97, Alick Athanaze hit 90, and Justin Greaves hammered an unbeaten 115 as Windies posted 450/9 in their first innings. With the ball, Alzarri Joseph grabbed three wickets, and Greaves and Jayden Seales picked two each. Bangladesh never got going, crawling to 269/9 declared.

The Windies stumbled a bit in their second innings, bowled out for 152. But Athanaze’s fighting 42 kept them in the driver’s seat. With 334 runs to defend, Kemar Roach and Seales were on fire. They picked up three wickets each and wrapped up Bangladesh for just 132.

Bangladesh

For Bangladesh, it was a tale of missed opportunities. Hasan Mahmud grabbed three wickets in the first innings, while Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz chipped in with two each. But their batters failed to deliver the goods.

Mominul Haq (50), Litton Das (40), and Zakir Ali (53) got starts but fell short when it mattered. Taskin’s six-wicket haul in the Windies' second innings gave Bangladesh a sniff, but their batting collapse in the fourth innings was the final nail in the coffin. A better batting effort is needed if Bangladesh are to win this game.

How Will the Sabina Park Pitch Behave?

The pitch at Sabina Park is batter-friendly early on, with an average first-innings score of 320. But it’s not a free ride. Spinners will get some assistance, and pacers can expect a bit of bounce, though not always predictable. Batting in the fourth innings will be a real test which is why the captain winning the toss will look to bat first.
