The 2025 IPL season ended in a thrilling way as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally lifted their first-ever IPL trophy, defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by just 6 runs. It was an emotional moment as the team ended an 18-year-long wait for the title. Rajat Patidar led RCB to this historic victory.

With legends like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja retiring from T20s last year, it’s now time for the next generation to step up. And this IPL season proved that many young Indian players are ready to take on the challenge in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2025, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka.

Here are five Indian players who made a strong case for their selection:

Prabhsimran Singh

The young opener from Punjab Kings had an excellent season. He scored 549 runs in 17 matches with a high strike rate of 160.53 and an average of 32.32. His explosive batting helped PBKS reach the finals. He looks like a perfect fit for India’s top order in the World Cup.

Prasidh Krishna

The fast bowler from Gujarat Titans was outstanding. He ended the tournament as the Purple Cap winner (most wickets) with 25 wickets in 15 matches. Even though GT didn’t reach the final, his economy rate of 8.27 and performances like his 4-wicket haul against Delhi Capitals have put him in the spotlight.

Nehal Wadhera

At just 24 years old, Nehal Wadhera played a key role in the middle order. He scored 369 runs in 15 games with a strike rate of 145.85 and an average of 30.74. He’s shown that he can be a consistent and reliable batter, especially in pressure situations.

Naman Dhir

Mumbai Indians’ new star, Naman Dhir, proved he’s exactly the kind of finisher India needs. He smashed runs at a crazy strike rate of 182.60, and in the death overs alone, his strike rate was 191.40, the highest of the tournament.
